Press Release Summary = CANTON, MA, MAY 23, 2007.With "peak" moving season just
around the corner, the management of Humboldt Storage and Moving of Canton, would
like to share a few friendly moving tips to help consumers prepare for a stress-free
move.

Humboldt Storage and Moving is greater Boston's largest moving company. They have
been moving families for over 100 years and they've developed these simple tips to
help families avoid fiascos and moving day anxiety.

Press Release Body = . Since summer is "peak" moving season, try to be flexible
about when you move. You may want to schedule prior to June 1 and after August 30.
. Prepare your children in advance for the move- Tell them immediately about the
idea and give them some time to adjust. Have an honest question and answer session
so you can address their fears and let them know you are interested in their
thoughts and feelings.

. Stay away from companies that perform services based on cubic footage, this is
less measurable than going on the physical weight of your goods.

. Set up appointments with three reputable moving companies. Shopping for a mover
is not the most fun you will have this year but choosing the right company is very
important.

. Stay away from internet based moving companies. Always have a sales person come to
your home to do an in home survey. A visual survey will insure the estimate is
accurate and will also allow you to learn more about the people that will be moving
all of your worldly possessions.
. When the agent tours your home during an estimate, show him/her everything that is
being moved.
. Prepare for packing. If you are packing yourself, start collecting boxes, plastic
containers, newspapers and Styrofoam or bubble wrap material ahead of time. Have
everything packed in advance of moving day.
. Get rid of all flammables such as cleaning fluids, aerosol cans and matches.
Drain fuel from your lawn mower and any other machinery.
. If you are moving antiques, you may want to get a written appraisal of antique
items to verify their value. Never wax or polish wood furniture before a move as it
softens the wood and makes it more vulnerable.
"Moving your family can be one of the most stressful events you can go through,"
states James Sullivan, general manager of Humboldt Storage and Moving. "Having a
clear plan, being prepared and involving the entire family are some of the keys to
having a successful, stress-free move. By following our written advice and
utilizing the assistance of a professional moving company, the chances of actually
enjoying your move are greatly enhanced."
